Iranian official: Saudi, US extremists likely behind Tehran terror attacks

Iranian Parliament's General Director for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stressed that while it is early to draw conclusions about the elements behind the ISIS terrorist attacks, there were rumors about possible role of Saudi Arabia and extremist agents inside US government.

“There are reports that certain talks had been held with Saudi officials during Mr. Trump’s visit to Riyadh, which also puts suspicion on the complicity of some extremist agents inside US government in the terrorist attacks on Tehran,” he said.

He went on to add, “Saudi foreign minister Adel al-Jubeir and minister of defense Mohammad bin Salman had also recently threatened that they would bring insecurities and war inside Iran. They must be held accountable for their threats in the wake of the terrorist attacks on Tehran.”

The June 7 terrorist attacks on Iran’s Parliament and the Mausoleum of Imam Khomeini left 17 people dead and 50 others injured. ISIS claimed responsibility for both attacks
